The Magic of Rotary in Parker!
Are you looking for an active community service club that has strong roots in the Parker Community? Then look no further than the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary Club. Here are some examples of our magic in the Parker community in 2024.

In April, CCVRC awarded four graduating high school students $2,600 in college scholarships. These scholarship recipients were recognized for their commitment to mentoring, educational goals, and understanding of the Rotary 4-way Test, as demonstrated through a written essay.

On May 15, during National Police Week, CCVRC celebrated the outstanding contributions of local law enforcement officers from the Colorado State Patrol, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and the Parker Police Department.

On May 18, the club hosted its first EPIC Recycling Event at Legend High School. The event was a great success, with over 1,500 vehicles stopping by to drop off paint, paper, and lithium batteries. The club collected over 118 cubic yards of paint weighing 105,889 pounds and filled three recycling shredder trucks. Look for this event again in May of 2025.

In July, CCVRC sent twelve Parker area middle and high school students to the prestigious Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp held at the beautiful Estes Park YMCA Camp of the Rockies. Financial support for the camp came from the club budget and the personal contributions made by CCVRC members. This is the largest number of students sponsored by CCVRC and would not have been possible without the support of our members!

On August 3, our club partnered with Cimmaron Middle School (CMS) teachers, the CMS Interact Club, and the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Denver Chapter to build 40 beds for homeless students in Douglas County. CCVRC donated $1,500 to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

On September 11, the club provided breakfast burritos to firefighters in the South Metro Fire Protection District and the Franktown Fire Department in recognition of the sacrifice made by first responders on 9/11.

CCVRC supports the Parker Task Force through financial contributions and our members' volunteering to staff the task force's food drives. In 2024, the club provided $2,500 in donations to the Parker Task Force and provided Rotary volunteers at each of their food drives in 2024.

Lastly, CCVRC supported the Parker Chamber of Commerce with its annual Wine Walks by providing volunteers to assist with registration. CCVRC also supported the Downtown Business Alliance with its Halloween Trunk or Treat Event. Look for CCVRC at the annual Christmas Parade in December.

Valley Hope of parker
The Cherry Creek Valley Rotary of Parker purchased over 100 backpacks and toiletries for the new patients at Valley Hope Treatment Center of Parker.  The new patients are entering the facility with basically nothing.  The backpacks will give the patients a place to store their personal items.  The backpacks also contained soap, shaving supplies, shampoo & conditioner, nail clippers, socks, combs/brushes, lotion, ChapStick, Kleenex, and a note from the Cherry Creek Valley Rotary of Parker club.  The staff has already told us this is making the new patients feel human again.
