Community Service Chair Dan Barnes: our club made contributions this past year to Project Sanctuary, Toys for God's Kids, Parker Downtown Trick-or-Treat, 9-11 Breakfast for Firefighters, Women's Crisis Center, SECOR, and Homes for Our Troops.
Vocational & Youth Service Chair Jim Dvorak: our club makes ongoing contributions with tutoring time and 4-Way Test teaching at the Douglas County Support Center; and we delivered dictionaries to all 3rd graders in the 13 district elementary schools.
International Service Chair Kevin Hausmann: we focused on a water project (funding sand dams in Kenya) and a Shelter Box. Don Willson reported that after hosting students from Germany, Croatia, Sweeden, Finland, and this year from France, our club will take a break next year. Emma (from the north side of Aix-en-Provence) is enjoying her time in Colorado through the end of June. Special thanks to all the host families!
New Generations Chair Becky Hoeck: our club has worked for about 5 years to cultivate an Interact Club & with Tamera Krause's help, we now we have one at Legend HS. Those students raised funds and supplies through a "Hat Day" to support Colorado Flood Victims and with community help they made 100 baby blankets to send to Cambodia.
Club President Courtney Howey thanked everyone and pointed out that our club fundraisers help fund all these efforts. Rotarians need to plan to pitch in and enjoy fellowship through service for the three days of the Labor Day weekend Smokin' BBQ event as well as during Parker Days.
Rotary Foundation Chair Christopher Plummer explained how all the funds we contribute go through Rotary International, how Paul Harris giving gets accounted for, and how 3 years later the funds we've given cycle back to us as the amount we can apply for to give grants.
Sargent-at-Arms Douglas Klich thanked Jim Chincholl and John Howe for all their help with setting up and putting away club items each week, helping him greet and check-in members. He reported no need to force orderliness on club meetings this year.
